An Introduction toField Theoryon the Lattice:ab initio calculations of hadrons from quarks • Kazuyuki Kanaya • Inst. of Physics, Univ. of Tsukuba • kanaya@rccp.tsukuba.ac.jp 2003/12 Nagoya (C)
7. Summary and future prospective • Summary • Lattice QCD: non-perturbative definition of QCD • ab initio calculations of hadronic properties • numerical methods intensively applied • => proof of QCD, determination of fundamental parameters • => prediction of QCD: HME's, QGP, ... • <=> matrix models, quantum gravity, NC, ... • <= theoretical developments • (improvement, chiral fermions, ...) • <= technical developments • (algorithms, vectorization, parallelization, ...) • <= progress in computer technologies • (super/parallel computers, clusters, grid, ...) • All three are important and have equally contributed!
7. Future: dedicated computers As the most intensive power user, LQCD have been crucially contributed the development of vector and parallel computers. Computers dedicated for LQCD • QCDOC 20TFLOPS • apeNEXT • PC clusters CP-PACS QCDSP APE-100 QCDPAX Columbia APE APEmille
7. Future: LQA and ILDG • Lattice QCD Archive • http://www.lqa.rccp.tsukuba.ac.jp/ • Grid-based Archive for LQCD. • CP-PACS Nf=2 configurations. • Will open around end of Dec. 2003. • This Archive is a part of Search engine by M. Sato @ CCP, Tsukuba • International Lattice Data Grid • http://www.lqcd.org/ildg/tiki-index.php • Intern'l initiative to create a Data Grid for LQCD. • Current members: UK, USA, Japan, Germany • Now working on middleware and metadata formats => step by step 2004–
