LBGTQIA+ Youth • 2 to 3 times as likely to attempt suicide • 20%-40% more likely to be homeless • 19% to 29% experience dating violence • 14% to 31% force to engage in sexual intercourse (Center for Disease Control)
DID YOU KNOW? Youth who are “out” to their immediate families report feeling happier than those who aren’t 92% of LBGTQ adults report they believe society has become more accepting of them 90% of teens who are LBGTQIA+ come out to their closest friends

The Classroom What is my gender story? Have I ever experienced limitations because of gender norms? Do I have any gender biases? Does my district or school’s anti-bullying policy expressly protect students from harassment based on gender identity? Does my curriculum include neutral or positive mention of LGBT people?
