  2. What is MiPHY • Online local level student survey offered every other year • Next cycle opens September 2011 and closes May 2012 • Grades 7, 9, and 11 • All Middle and High Schools are eligible, including public, public school academies, and private

  3. MiPHY • Administrated in lab classrooms and coordinated locally • Middle and High school versions • 159 Middle School questions • 179 High School questions • Students complete in approximately 30 minutes

  4. What Makes MiPHY • Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) + Risk and Protective Factors • Allows for state level benchmarks

  5. MiPHY and MiPHY Basic MiPHY- all risk behavior and risk and protective factor domains Violence Weight and nutrition Bullying Physical activity Alcohol Depression and suicide Tobacco Sexual behavior Other drugs MiPHY Basic – the MiPHY survey excluding the suicide and sexual behavior questions

  6. Why MiPHY Fills need for standardized, local surveying Meets needs assessment and reporting requirements, grant writing Comprehensive - Reduces the burden of conducting multiple student surveys Reliable and valid No cost to districts and communities Multiple reports available
