  3. Goals Beyond High School • Three Good Alternatives • College • Job • Military Service • Requires Setting REALISTIC GOALS • College—top 30% • Jobs—require training • Military Service ASVAB or College • WHAT DOES IT REALLY TAKE TO SUCCEED

Habits and Ethics • Academics—learning how to learn • Honors—research, writing, and time management • All—note taking—recognizing what is important • Drill • Posture • Focus • Repetition • Uniform • Dress in the business world • Attention to detail • PT • Real health and real exercise • Attention to detail • Competition • Events teach planning and teamwork

PROCEDURE WITH REALISTIC TEACHING GOAL • Instructor Office • When no instructor is present DO NOT ENTER • Same as boss’ office • When instructor is present and with other cadets • Wait away from door • Make request in class or when instructor is not in the office • When Instructor(s) are present and free • Report in • One knock, salute, report with words, and wait • DO NOT HANG OUT JUST OUTSIDE DOOR—RESPECT PRIVACY

  6. THERE WILL BE TRAINING • Flight commanders will conduct the training in the cadet office • Five at a time—others outside • Returning cadets will be selected randomly to demonstrate in their classroom • PURPOSE: Learn one procedure used to regulate office protocol
