Aims of the lesson: • to enlarge the children’s vocabulary and grammar knowledge; • to broaden student’s knowledge of the topic; • to develop their speaking, thinking and writing abilities; • to teach them to be well-mannered and well-educated person. - to practise speaking skills . Visual aids: Book, copy-book, worksheets, colourful pictures of foods Technical aids: an interactive board, a computer. The type of the lesson: combined lesson
The procedure of the lesson plan I. Organization moment (3 min.) • Greetings Good morning, pupils! How are you? • Marking absentees What date is it today? Who is absent today? • Warming-up What season is it now? What month is it now? What is the weather like today? Do you like this kind of weather?
2. Presenting the new theme (2 min.) Т: Today we are going to speak about traditional English food. We’ll get to learn what English people usually eat in the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening.
3. Warming –up (3 min.) Let’s read the poem “What do I like?” I like ice-cream. She likes sweets. I like cookies. He likes cheese. I like coffee. She likes tea. I love you. Do you love me?
Practice the sounds (2 min.) • 1. Фонетична зарядка. T: Let`s look at the screen and practice the sounds. [i:] - sweet, tea, meat, cheese, peel [æ] - salad, sandwich, jam, apple [ai] - rice, ice -cream, slice, fry [i] - biscuit, crisps, fish, chicken, grill, mix
4. Checking-up the home task (5min.) Your home task was to write how to make one of your favourite dishes in ex-5, p.64 and let’s read it.
The main part of the lessonGrammar Revision(5 min.) Game “Clap hands” If the word? What I say is countable, the students-clap hands, if uncountable- silent. butter, strawberry ,cereal, tea, banana, lemon, salt, egg, carrot, milk, jam, apple , sandwiches, ham , cheese, coffee, potato.
Working on the new theme 1) Speaking .( 2 min.) Work in pairs. Do ex. 1, p. 65 Look at the pictures on page 65 in your books. -What food can we see? -This is traditional English food. 2) Reading (8 min.) Ex. 1 p.65
Agree or disagree( 5 min.) Post –listening activity Ex.2 p.65 1. English people usually have three meals during the day. 2. People have breakfast at about 9 o`clock. 3. Many people have lunch at 12 o`clock. 4. Schoolchildren have their lunch at home. 5. Schoolchildren don`t bring their packed lunch to school. 6. English people usually have a plate of soup, meat or chicken with vegetables, cheese, ice cream or an apple pie in the evening.
