  2. Scenario Clarification The point is to get a common understanding of what scenarios are and how they can be used for RE in TENCompetence.

  3. Scenarios • Scenarios can cover a wide range from real world descriptions, to models and specifications in the sense of a instantiation of a use case.

  4. Role of Scenarios • Scenarios relate to models by the process of abstraction and to protoypes by the process of design

  5. Real World Context • Real world scenarios - as mostly interesting in our case - can be • problem scenarios, • scenarios of use, • system context scenarios, • vision scenarios.

  6. Common Ground Examples for discussion • George works in a company for web design and programmes individual solutions for the customers. He has to handle a lot of new technologies and handle them every month. His main problem is to keep up to date with the latest developments in technologies and all the time to be able to integrate latest developments into his solutions. He detects a new service on the internet that collects latest technology news and provides training services if requested. Together with that service interested colleagues provide questions to assess the individual competence in a special new technology. George starts to use that service to get an individual state of his current competences on latest interesting technologies and keep up to date in his working life.
