Implementation • It’s a matter of “taking what people know in one place, and combining it with what people know in another.” In other words, implementation is the activity of taking new knowledge developed through scientific research, and successfully integrating it into what people already know about doing their work, which they have developed over years and decades of practice

  7. What have we learned? • It’s Not about the Money!! (tacit knowledge) • No one can Dictate Implementation • Get Permission then work with the practitioner • Few Research Projects are “Shovel Ready” • Things are changing---quickly and daily

  8. First Come the Willing People • Sometimes they are not “that” willing • Then it may take some “s’plaining” • The great thing about Us is that when we understand the value to Us– we become advocates

  9. Then comes the hard work • You need $$ “but” • Few are “shovel ready” • Planning • Procurement • Permits • Figure out the “bugs”
