  2. What is the spread offense? • An offensive football scheme used by all levels of the sport. • The point of the spread offense is to “spread” the defense out. • Offenses usually use receiver sets of 3, 4 and up to 5 receivers.

  4. Benefits of the Spread • Using multiple receivers to spread out the defense opens lanes for the pass and run games.

  6. Oregon ducks • One of the most notable spread offenses in the country. • During last years BCS Championship game, they ran a play about every 13 seconds. • Named the fastest football team in the NCAA. • #6 team in the nation in total offense.
