Top 10 Training RecommendationsCPSS Study - Danielson Framework • Number 7: Multiple CPSS Principals were concerned about their lack of training in conducting the pre and post evaluation conversations (page 38) • Number 6: CPSS teachers stated that watching a Principal evaluate a teacher - using a real video example, helped them understand what was going to happen in their evaluation – and made them better prepared for the process (page 41). • Number 5: Principals felt they needed training on note taking during the observation – then translating the notes into evidence for rating the components (page 50).

They wanted the co-observer to be an expert in the Framework (page 42) • Number 2: Principals and Teachers expressed a need to deepen their understanding of Domains 1 and 4 (page 50)

They felt everyone in the school system would benefit from a video library that contains lessons or excerpts of instructional practice that illustrate “distinguished” or “proficient” practice on a given component. Principals and Teachers expressed a desire to visualize levels of performance and requested a much more extensive video library be made available to them. (page 51).
