  1. The Perfect Social Studies Notebook 2014-2015

  2. What is it? Your notebook is the tool for your success in social studies It allows you to keep track of worksheets, homework, classwork, and essential questions for a day in an organized way

Daily Pages Your Notebook needs to be updated daily You should have an essential question, warm-up, WIO, and titles written down for each date Also the date and a page number should be written on each page *Each day you have a new set of pages. They are set up to be an open notebook so you can see two pages at once.

  5. Page Numbers The Page number needs to be in the bottom left hand corner on the left side of the page. It should be in a large print so it is easy to see while flipping through pages for a specific page. The Page number needs to be in the bottom right hand corner on the right side of the page. It should still be in a large print.

  7. Dates The Date goes on the right corner if your writing it on the right side of the page. The Dates ALWAYS need to be on SECOND PAGE!! 8-25-09A 67 66

  8. Essential Question An essential question needs to be written for every day. It always is written on the left side, and is the title. Most of the time an essential question will be different each day. IF NO ESSENTIAL QUESTION, POINTS WILL BE TAKEN OFF OF A NOTEBOOK CHECK! Essential Question Essential Question: Do you know where to write the essential question? The essential question should always be written down as the title on the LEFT SIDE. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ANSWER THE ESSENTIAL QUESTION.

  10. Title The Title is on the top Right Line of the NB Pages The title should be in the header of the notebook page. It should be large like the page numbers so it is easier to see. Titles will be designated with bolded and underlined words in agenda. *** When taping down handouts, NEVER COVER THE TITLE OF A PAGE!!! *** The title on a Page 8-25-09A

  12. Warm-Up’s 8-25-09A Write down the Warm-up Warm-up: DO Warm-ups need to be answered in a complete sentence? Yes warm-ups need to be written in a complete sentence. Where is a warm-up written? The warm up is written under the essential question on the LEFT SIDE. After copying the Note Book Pages, you will answer the Warm-Up unless you are told not to. WARM-UP THE WARM UP IS ALWAYS ANSWERED IN A COMPLETE SCENTENCES. 66 67

  14. WIO’s Write down the WIO • WIO: Stands for WORK IT OUT! • Where is a WIO written? The WIO is written under the warm-up on the LEFT SIDE, leaving enough space to complete your warm-up. • If the WIO is not answered in class, it becomes homework WIO THE WIO UP IS ALWAYS ANSWERED IN A COMPLETE SENTENCES. 66

  16. How to Tape & Fold The Perfect piece of tape should be 1 inch long… NOT 1 FOOT, 1 INCH!!! It should look like this: You Should put the tape on the center of the paper you want to tape Never Cover up the Title, essential question, or page numbers Make Sure it is center with margins Also make sure it doesn’t stick out of the notebook Make Sure if it classwork, tape it on the objective page, Homework and Warm-ups on the Warm-up page
