MUSIC

1. MUSIC Ecclesiastes 7:5It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools. There is a music that fools listen to just like there is a music that wise people listen to. It is not based on my personal opinion or yours but rather it is based on the Bible, God's Word. Let me show you why Music is so important and why it is so powerful but also a bad stronghold in some cases.

2. MUSIC Ezekiel 28:12‑17Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. • Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabretsand of thypipeswas prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Tabrets = Tambourine Pipes = Organ 14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. 15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. 16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. 17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

3. MUSIC Satan was the Lord's song leader. Satan led the angels in praise to God. Satan is not music, but part of his make‑up is music. What do you think would be one of the major tools of the Devil? Plato said, "You show me a nations music and I'll show you the future of that nation." I don't care who makes the Laws - That matters nothing compared to who or what is pumping the music. People will follow your music long before the follow your laws.

4. MUSIC Music has 3 Parts MelodyThis speaks to the mind. • This carries the message of the song HarmonyThis speaks to the heart. • This accompanies the message or blends or adds depth to the message. Rhythm This speaks to the body. • It keeps the song moving at a consistent rate. Good music will have all 3 of these with the Melody being the major part that is emphasized. Psalm 68:25The singers went before, the players on instruments followed after; among them were the damsels playing with timbrels. • 1st Melody – Singers • 2nd Harmony – Players on Instruments • 3rd Rhythm – Damsels playing with Timbrels Every song should have a beat to it but it should not be noticed. Much of the music today is out of God’s order. Either the Rhythm is too predominant or the harmony is stressed over the melody. Much of what is called Christian is secular music with Christian words. Music is a vehicle to carry or transport the message.

5. MUSIC Music is very much in the Bible. God has a lot to say about music and what is right. The Right type of music will help you and the wrong kind of music will hurt you. There are only 2 activities that affect your body, soul and spirit; Reading your Bible and Listening to Music 1 Samuel 16:21‑23And David came to Saul, and stood before him: and he loved him greatly; and he became his armourbearer. 22 And Saul sent to Jesse, saying, Let David, I pray thee, stand before me; for he hath found favour in my sight. 23 And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him. MUSIC Music does affect you physically Exodus 32:17‑20 and 25And when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said unto Moses, There is a noise of war in the camp. 18 And he said, It is not the voice of them that shout for mastery, neither is it the voice of them that cry for being overcome: but the noise of them that sing do I hear. 19 And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses' anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount. 20 And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strawed it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it. 25 And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:) There is a music that is conducive to bad behavior. Music does not make you do wrong but the wrong kind of music can encourage wrong. Music does affect you physically. It is dangerous when People say, "I don't listen to the words, I just listen to the Music."

7. MUSIC Dr. John Diamond puts music into five categories. Frank Zappa – “Rock music is sex. The big beat matches the bodies rhythms.” "Give me control of your music for 12 months and I will make you a queer." Mick Jagger ‑ Rock is sex, and you have to hit'em in the face with it. Marty Bolin ‑ The stage is our bed and the audience is our broad. We're not entertaining, we're making love." David Lee Roth ‑ One reason I'm in this job is to exercise my sexual fantasies Dr. Larrie Greenburg, a Washington pediatrician describes Rock music as, "Audio Pornography."

8. MUSIC Doctor’s study’s show: Heavy rythmn or base beat causes: • Pupils to dilate • Esophagus goes into spasms. • Heart beat more rapid and flutters • Blood vessels contract • Stomach and intestines altered from the norm A melody with unexpected high notes causes muscle tension • Your larynx sympathizes with the melody. • Skin becomes pale • Musical tones affect the body

9. MUSIC Harmony Affects • Sustained cordscause blood pressure to lower • Staccato or rapidly repeated cords cause blood pressure to raise • Base over‑tones cause tension in the lower abdomen and sex organs • Slows the pituitary gland • Causes sexual stimulation • Over stimulation results in bodily obscenities • Base over‑tones cause blood pressure, tightens skeletal muscles, affects motor nerves, and causes light hypnosis.

10. MUSIC Doctors say music is dangerous to the brain when: • 1.) Loud • 2.) Meaningless • 3.) Irregular or unexpected. Doctors say there are 5 areas of physical response the body has for music. • 1.) Digestion • 2.) Secretion • 3.) Circulation • 4.) Nutrition • 5.) Respiration. Music does affect you physically

MUSIC Just like in Exodus we saw how bad music encourages bad behavior God also gives us an example of how good music encourages us to be spiritual II Kings 3:14‑15And Elisha said, As the LORD of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward thee, nor see thee. 15 But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass,when the minstrel played,that the hand of the LORD came upon him. Good music will encourage you to yield to the Holy Spirit

MUSIC Genesis 4:19‑24And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah. 20 And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle. 21 And his brother's name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ. Was Jubal the father of music or did he create it? Lamech was singing about Murder. He was singing about his lifestyle and what he was. People still sing about what they are and their lifestyle.

13. MUSIC Job 38:4‑7Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Before the existence of man. 5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? 6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; 7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? Music was here before man so it must have had a purpose before man. Does it say here that man created music?

14. MUSIC John 1:1‑3In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. Who created music?‑‑‑‑‑‑GOD Ephesians 3:9... who created all things by Jesus Christ: Colossians 1:16‑17For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. Revelation 4:11Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, andfor thy pleasurethey are and were created. Why was music created? Why is music here? Who is, "HIM"‑God Does this mean God made music for himself? ‑‑‑‑‑‑Yes Proverbs 16:4The LORD hath made all things for himself: Two books of the Bible are named after music: “SONG of Solomon” and “PSALMS.”

15. MUSIC There are two categories of music for the Christian. 1.) That which glorifies GOD 2.) That which does not glorify GOD. Music is cultural but there are only two cultures in the Bible, Heaven and Hell What culture is your music associated with? 1 Corinthians 10:31Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. Psalm 86:12I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore. Ephesians 1:12That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. Christians are the only religion on earth that sing to their founder. What do you think we will sing in Heaven? Will we sing the music your radio station is set on. Will we sing your favorite music?

16. MUSIC Godly music praises the Lord. Bad music pleases Satan! Music that is NOT godly is ungodly. Ungodly music is Satan’s (Satanic) music. For music to be ungodly, it does not have to: • Be evil - Extol Satan - Be Satanic. For music to be ungodly, it just has to NOT be godly. All Ungodly Music Is Contrary To The Original Intent And Purpose Of Music. All ungodly music dishonors God and is therefore: a. WRONG. b. BAD. c. EVIL. d. SINFUL. e. PERVERTED. All ungodly music is of the Devil (Satanic).

17. MUSIC Satan wants us to listen to any kind of music as long as it is NOT godly music. Satan hates music that glorifies the Lord and blesses the soul. Godly music grieves Satan; ungodly music pleases Satan. As a Christian, we should NOT want to please Satan. We should want to grieve Satan and glorify God. We should want to be blessed in our soul.

18. MUSIC Ephesians 5:18-21And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; 19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; 20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; 21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. Notice The Word “Speaking.” 1. All music “speaks” to us. It either speaks to us good or bad. 2. There is a message to every SONG! 3. Every song writer is a “preacher.” a. He is preaching his doctrine. b. He is preaching either good doctrine or FALSE doctrine. 4. Every song has a theme. The five themes of “rock and roll” music are: a. SEX. b. DRUGS. c. REBELLION. d. SUICIDE. e. THE OCCULT. We should be careful for the kind of music we allow - the music has a message and a theme. The music is speaking to our soul.

19. MUSIC Let me show you what they say in Heaven. Isaiah 6:3And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. Colossians 3:16‑17Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. God designed music to teach you and instruct you. We are supposed to teach each other with music. • ADMONISHING - Counsel When your favorite songs were done playing, what were you taught?

20. MUSIC 1 Timothy 6:3‑5If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; 4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, 5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. Can you see John the Baptist sitting around singing Rock or Rap or Country Music? Romans 8:5‑8For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.Flesh‑self 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. You can say what you want but Rock Music, Rap Music, Country Music, Christian rock is all the same. It does not please God. It is of the flesh.

21. MUSIC Revelation 3:15‑16I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Christian ‑ Hot, godly + Rock ‑ Cold, Satanic = Lukewarm You cannot take music that was designed to stir the flesh, combine it with spiritual words and get a spiritual response from it. You can’t have Christian-Rock any more than you can have a Christian-Bank Robber or a Christian-Prostitute or a Christian-Democrat.
