  3. What happened when? To understand a story you must know what order things happened. Change the order of the following statements to come up with different stories…

  4. Body in a room There is a dead body on the floor in a room The police are called Someone left the room Someone went into the room Somebody screamed How many different stories can you make up from these statements?

  5. In the story of a ‘body in a room’ you can make up different stories by changing the order things happened. You could make the story murder, suicide, or just someone discovering a body Knowing when events happened and what came before and after events helps us connect up the stories of the past.

  6. Chronology Chronology is the study of exactly when things happened. When historians put things in chronological order they put them in the order things happened. Like detectives, by placing things in chronological order we may find out why things happened.
