What is FCCLA? • Is the only in school student organization with the family as its central focus • It provides opportunities for active student participation at local, state, and national levels. • Students demonstrate skills learned in Family and Consumer Sciences, as well as helping families through community service. • Develops the individual leader involved and provides service for a better community.
Vision Statement We envision that the WA-FCCLA organization will remain a sustainable opportunity for all students to experience leadership and success in their personal, family, career, and thriving community lives. The positive influence of the organization will be recognized by business, community leaders, and industry.
FCCLA- 3 Paths to success Leadership Skills: • Attend conferences and training on leadership skills • Enhance Public Speaking Skills • Take the lead in community service projects • Plan, and implement group projects • Communication skills • Problem-solving skills • Community • Service: • Get involved in the community to make a difference • Gain volunteer hours for classes or Sr. Project, great on college applications and scholarships • Opportunities to meet and work with community organizations • Sense of Pride and Accomplishment when helping others Competition Projects: • Plan and implement STAR Event Projects • Opportunities attend leadership conferences • Recognition and Medals for your achievements! • Self-Fulfillment by pushing yourself to become the best leader you can be!!! • Public Speaking, Speeches, and Organizational skills
Community Service • FCCLA is second to none when it comes to service learning. • Nearly 100 percent of our members are involved in community service each year. Previously, we raised over $200,000 for Feed The Children. • This year we partnered with March of Dimes and Share our Strength
Our Programs Have Real Community Impact! • FCCLA programs promote safe driving through our national program, FACTS. Some of our focal areas are; • No Distracted Driving • Safe Driving Habits • No Driving Under The Influence • Buckle Up • Encouraging Teens Not to Ride With Unsafe Drivers
Our Students Address Some of Our Nation’s Biggest Problems We have projects which teach us to be fit, eat right , and make healthy choices.
160,000 Kids Miss School Every Day Because of Bullying Students take action through STOP The Violence to impact their peers which in turn makes their schools a safer place to be.
We Help Students Learn How To Earn, Save, and Spend Money Wisely We inspire teens to manage their money and plan for their financial future. They learn how to be savvy spenders. They conquer credit and investments. They track and plan personal purchasing.
Competition’s Develop Vital Skills Our knowledge and skills are put to the test as we participate in competitions at local, state and national levels.
Career Skills are Demonstrated… Early Childhood Event has students practice the skills needed to teach lessons to little children in a childcare setting. Culinary teams cooked a full 3 course menu in front of industry chef judges at Nationals.
