Quiz Summary • As you can tell, there are LOTS of standard reports available in Raiser’s Edge • Here are three key reports I’ve used in the past and present at different organizations for fundraisers and senior management
Key Questions to Think About Before Starting the Report…. • Who needs the report? • What is the goal of the report? • What information do you want to analyze and present? • When is the report needed? • If there is a tight deadline, can you reuse a report? • If the fields are not there, is there time to create a Custom Report? • Where is the information stored in Raiser’s Edge? • Would a standard report be helpful to run? vs. A query or export?
Standard Report #1 – Fundraiser would like to see his/her actions • RE Reports Action Reports Tickler Report • Provides detailed information about selected actions by Solicitor • Can include action notes and phone contact information • Can filter on open and closed actions
Reports: Action Detail Report vs. Tickler Report
Difference Action Detail vs. Tickler • Personal preference • I like how Tickler Report is grouped by Solicitor and can display phone types
Standard Report #2 – Director of Finance needs gifts received over a certain period for the Bank Reconciliation and Board Report • Reports Financial Reports Gift Detail and Summary Report • Gift Detail Report – provides detailed information regarding a constituent’s giving within a date range • Gift Summary Report – totals gifts received in a date range by constituent code, fund, campaign, or appeal
Gift Detail and Summary Report – Tab 3 tip • Use caution if you include pledge gift types:
Gift and Detail Summary Report – Voila! • Summary: • Detail:
Gift and Detail Summary Report Tips: • Tools Options Reports Gift Preferences Check Include anonymous gifts Format: Asterisk at end of line • If there is more than one constituent, the name won’t display on each line
Standard Report #3 – CEO wants to see Constituent History to prepare for a meeting • Reports Profiles, Lists, and Directories Constituent Profile
Best Practices / Tips: • Naming convention – use initials to prefix naming of the report ex. Dha– Tickler Report DhaActions • Easier to group /organize • Allow others to run or modify report – save time!
Best Practices / Tips: • Save, save, save • Add page numbers to the bottom of the report • Add header and footer • When exporting to *.pdf, copy the naming convention – after exporting it will be in lower case for the name
Best Practices / Tips: • Use RE Help and bottom window to view description, samples, columns
Best Practices / Tips: • Shortcut - Add Report to Favourites for frequent access
