  3. “The Flying Sphere” • Uses principles of Conservation of Energy • Transfers energy from initial elastic potential energy to kinetic energy, and finally to pure potential energy • Purpose is to physically see the different stages of energies transforming throughout the demonstration

  4. Stages • Spring energy -> Kinetic energy -> potential and kinetic energy -> potential energy • Our spring energy is the starting point, and puts the ball in motion giving it kinetic energy • That kinetic energy is carried to the last stage • At last, the ball is shot upwards converting kinetic energy into potential energy.

  5. Conclusions • Energy is conserved. • Energy is not created or destroyed throughout the demonstration-just transferred from state to state.
