  1. Conditions In Bradford During The Industrial Revolution By Graeme Robson

  2. What Were The Working Conditions Like Working conditions in Bradford during the Industrial Revolution were very poor. People got injured, people even got killed! An example of these extremely poor conditions is that the machinery wasn’t even fenced off so someone could get caught in the gears.

  3. Living Conditions In Bradford Living conditions in Bradford at this time were as bad as the working conditions, if not worse. Most streets in Bradford were slums with small houses with lots of people cramped in. There were no sewers so human faeces littered the streets. It was not uncommon to see a whole street sharing one toilet!

  4. Saltaire's Living Conditions Saltaire’s residents had exceptionally good standards of working when compared to Bradford. The houses which the workers inhabited were spacious and had all the facilities the people would need like running water warm houses, etc.

  5. Saltaire’s Working Conditions Again Saltaire had working conditions that were far safer than that of Bradford’s. Machinery was fenced off to ensure the safety of the workers. As well as their nice houses the residents of Saltaire also had cricket clubs and places to fish. However there were no pubs as Titus Salt thought that it was a bad habit and a waste of time.

  6. Conclusion In my opinion the standard of living and working conditions in Britain at the time were good in some places and awful in others. Saltaire was an excellent place to live and work when compared to Bradford but people still lived there because they couldn’t afford to go anywhere else, you could just wish that the conditions would get better. What I’m saying is that in that time you were stuck where you were born, you didn’t have the wealth to get out of there.
