  2. Introduction The Industrial Revolution had a HUGE effect on all levels of society. How people lived and worked changed significantly during this time. What were the living conditions during the Industrial Revolution?

  3. The poor lived in small houses and cramped .streets. The rich lived in big nice houses.

  4. Factory Conditions Factories were dirty and dangerous. Industries such as the cotton trade were mostly hard for workers to stand long hours of work. They had to work everyday a week in a row Children were often employed to move between these dangerous machines as they were small enough to fit between tightly packed machinery. Children and women worked ,but were paid less money than the men. Strikes were common.
