Year 2 Ruby Class: Positive and Fun Learning!

Join Miss Poppleton, Mrs. Tomlinson, and Miss Williams-Day in Year 2 Ruby Class. We focus on positive learning experiences, with team and table points, daily reward charts, and certificates. We love sharing our work with the school and enjoy P.E. on Wednesdays and Fridays. Our main topics include Amazing Africa, Jurassic Forest, The Royal Family, and Under the Sea. We have guided reading, spelling tests, and homework. Meet our Maths Monkey, Kirf, and join us for Forest School adventures. We also have exciting events like the Christmas Play and SATS quizzes. Our door is always open, so please share any questions or concerns!

  4. Lots of praise for good work and behaviour. • Share lots of work with the school. • Love to share great pieces of work/great days in class with you on the playground.

  5. P.E- Wednesday & Friday Please remove all jewellery before coming to school on these days. • P.E Kit • Black shorts • White T-Shirt • Pumps • Dark Tracksuit (woolly hats are useful in the winter months!) • Trainers • Please put your child’s name in every item!

  7. Reading • Guided reading each Wednesday • Read with 1:1 • Benchmarking (reading levels) • Reading at home

  8. Homework • Homework will be sent home each half-term by chilli-pepper. • The children will be tested on the spellings for the week each Friday.   9. Kirf- Maths Monkey Meet Kirf. He is our Maths Monkey. The children are invited to take it in turns to take him home with them and do some Maths!One child will be selected at random in our weekly Year 2 maths challenge. He should be returned by the following Monday.
