  2. Plant Cells are Unique!!! • Plant cells have chloroplasts used during photosynthesis. • Plants have a cell wall composed of cellulose located outside the cell membrane.

  3. Water Transport • The major source of water transport in plants is provided by the evaporation of water from leaves during transpiration. • When water is lost from the leaves, more water is pulled upward from the roots.

  4. Structure of Flowers • Flowers are reproductive organs of plants Male Part: Stamen • Anther – produces pollen (sperm) • Filament - long, thin stalk that supports the anther Female Part: Pistils • Ovary – broad base that contains one or more ovules • Style – narrow stalk of the pistil • Stigma – sticky portion at the top of the style where pollen grains typically land
