Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) • $500 million Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) Discretionary Grant Program FY 2012 • 2012 – 47 Projects in 34 States • www.dot.gov/tiger
Intercity Passenger Rail Investments • Investing in improved equipment and track through State DOTs • Testing higher speeds (111 MPH in Ill./160MPH ACELA) • 154 different projects are addressing all aspects of rail development from laying and upgrading track to eliminating bottlenecks, developing stations, and planning for future construction.
