WHO WE ARE? BOTA Foundation’s main mission is improving lives of children and youth from low-income families in Kazakhstan through investments in their education, health and social welfare. • The Foundation carries out its activity through 3 programs: • Conditional Cash Transfer Program (CCT) • Social ServiceProgram (SSP) • Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) Brothers from Teskensu village of Almaty oblast attend children mini-center established with the Foundation support Fatima Shokayeva fromAkmolaoblast

SSP Grants vs Applications and Active grants (applications-693; grants-313; active grants - 151)
ECD 1762 children are getting services (alpha- numeric, physical, emotional, behavioral, psychological, speech therapy, etc) 643 parents got basic ECD knowledge 16 mini centers opened ( WKO, EKO, SKO, Akmola) 12 new programs are implemented mobile ECD model family resource centers integration of 67 disabled children into ECD programs teacher training modules ECD curricular, etc
Children and youth in difficult life situations • 7284 beneficiaries are getting services, including: • 3011 orphans • 220 under violence and abused • 469 in prison and released from prison • 100 neglected • 3153 with deviant behavior • 67 new services implemented only due to BOTA funding: • Orphans empowerment, psychological, legal support and social integration, case management, counseling, adaptation to independent life, temporary shelter, prevention of risky behavior, etc.
Implemented Models • Case Management Model • Model of prevention of social orphanhood “Foster grandmother“ • Alternative Sentencing Model for young and under-aged offenders • Model of Taking Care of Children and Youth at Crisis “24 Hour Hotline 150” • Life Skills Development Model of graduates of orphanages
Support to Children and Youth with Disabilities • 4540 disabled children and youth are getting services • 2335 parents trained on home based care • 762 specialist trained (psychologist, motor specialist, speech therapist, massage therapist, psychiatrist, social workers, pediatrician , etc.) • 21 new services implemented only due to BOTA funding • self-service skills development, home care, special social services, psychological, educational and legal support, rehabilitation, adaptation, social integration, inclusive education, etc.)
11391 youth –beneficiaries served • Training consultations on business and employability skills • Vocational guidance courses • leadership skills development trainings, consultations, coaching • Internships and job placement • 216 young people are employed • Set up centers: • Youth community centers - 19 • Farmer Schools - 3 • Mediation Centers – 3 • Leadership centers- 11 • Youth Volunteer centers - 1 Youth Livelihoods
SSP Activities in Figures: 4grant competitions with 313 funded projects; 5th grant round is under process; 6.4mln. USD in grant commitment; 51 outreach presentations; 32 project design and budgeting seminars; 4 sector workshops; 42 GM seminars; 345 site visits; 4 annual conferences
