Government Lebanon has a Republican government and Najib Mikati is in charge of the government.

Religions The religions practiced in Lebanon are: * Islam * Christianity * Armenians.
Languages Their official language is Arabic and their other languages that are spoken there are: * French * English * Armenians.
Natural features The largest mountain in Lebanon is called Jabal al Makmal, which is about 30,87m high. The largest river in Lebanon is Nahr al Litani. Nahr al Litani Jabal al Makmal
Landmarks Some of the landmarks in Lebanon are the Baalbeck which is an ancient building found in the beginning of our era, another one is the palace of Beit Eddine a delightful example of the early 19th century architecture, it was built by Emir Bechir el Chehabi II. Baalbeck Beit Eddine
Culture Much Lebanese people wear clothes like people in Europe and the United States but some Lebanese people wear traditional clothing depending on their religion, the men wear pants called sherwal; red cone shaped hats called tarbushes; and checkered head scarves called kaffiyehs. Some Muslim women wear chadors or black veils. Because of Lebanon’s unique geography, both summer and winter sports thrive in the country. In fact, during autumn and spring it is sometimes possible to engage in both weather sports in one day; for example: skiing can be done in the morning and swimming in the afternoon. Music is pervasive in the Lebanese society, while traditional folk music remains popular in Lebanon, modern music reconciling Arabic styles, pop and fusion are rapidly advancing in popularity
Interesting Facts • Lebanon derives its name from the Arabic word lubnan, it means ‘white’ they chose that because of Lebanon’s snow covered mountains. • Lebanon has a free market economy. • Lebanon (Ibrahim) and Syria (Idriss) are both bordered by each other.
