SNHS Objectives • Encourage and recognize scientific and intellectual thought . • Advance the students’ knowledge of classical and modern science • Communicate with the scientific community • Aid the civic community with its comprehension of science • Encourage students to participate in community service and in turn, encourage a dedication to the pursuit of scientific knowledge that benefits all humankind
MEMBERSHIP Juniors • 3.0/4.0 overall GPA • 3.0/4.0 science GPA • Have completed or currently enrolled in at least one honors level or higher science class
MEMBERSHIP Seniors • 3.0/4.0 overall GPA • 3.0/4.0 science GPA • Completed at least one honors level or higher science class and currently enrolled in at least one honors level or higher science class. or • Completed at least two honors level or higher science classes.
MEMBERSHIP Underclassmen (9th and 10th) • Not eligible for membership
MEMBERSHIP • Pay annual dues (15 US dollars) • 3.0/4.0 overall GPA • 3.0/4.0 science GPA • No discipline referrals • No academic cheating • Regular attendance of Science National Honor Society meetings (not miss more than one meeting) • Six hours of science related volunteer work per year (3 per semester) • Participation in Science National Honor Society community service activities
