  2. Summary of Content This is an example of how whole school, cross curricular planning can have a significant impact on pupil engagement. It is beautifully annotated so the links are easy to see. Some interesting ideas for the future too.

What the school says We needed to update our Science planning to fit in with the other Curriculum areas, so we decided on a whole school topic planning approach, which has links across the curriculum in both KS1 and KS2 In addition we have integrated new resources such as Primary Upd8 materials. It also demonstrates a range of teaching and recording methods.

  6. The impact for our school was ..... This approach has really engaged children and given a real life link to science. Raised enthusiasm for science. The children have now have a greater ability to apply their science skills. “Down came the raindrops and washed poor Incy out.”

  7. What we will do next In the future we want to plan whole school themed topics to nurture whole school collaboration. We would also like to provide opportunities for the older year groups to support the younger children so we will soon be including this in our planning.
