Opening CeremoniesTeam Introductions & EntertainmentSpecial address by Garry Unger, Jim Playfair and Matt Keith • Located at Bill Copeland Arena- • See map on website. • Teams are to assemble at 8:30 AM to prepare for the procession into the arena. • Please have your team wear their jerseys or tracksuits. • Event lasts 60 minutes and is a great way to kick off the tournament for your team.
Check in Procedures • Please present yourself to the tournament desk 1 hour before your 1st game at the rink of your 1st game. • Please have your birth certificates to be reviewed immediately at check in and if you have not already sent it, proof of insurance and your signed waivers. Players will not be permitted to play if not properly registered. • After verification that all players and staff are properly registered you will receive your team package.
Division Set Ups • Challenge Cup seeding facts from Atom Major division. • Prior to 2006; 50 % of games were won by 6 goals or more • Since then; only 30 % of games were won by 6 goals or more. • This has been consistent throughout most age groups.
Division I 2003 DIVISION 16 TEAM FORMAT Teams will play 3 round robin-cross pool games. The top three teams from the A Pool & the top three teams from B Pool plus the top two ranked teams from the C & D Pools will advance to the Gold Medal Round. The 4th place finisher in A will play the 2nd place finisher in C and the 4th place finisher in B will play the 2nd place finisher in D will playoff for the B Championship. The 3rd & 4th place finishers in the C & D Pools will playoff for the C Championship.

2002 Novice Major 21 TEAM FORMAT Division I Pools A & B teams will play 3 round robin games inside their own division. The top three teams from each pool will advance to the Gold Medal Round. The fourth place finishers will be relegated to the B Final. Pools C & D teams will play 3 round robin games inside their own division. The top team from each the C & D Pool will advance to the Gold Medal Round. The second place finishers will play in the B Final playoffs with the 4th place finishers of the A & B division. The 3rd & 4th place finishers will head to the Div II playoffs. The E Division will play 4 round robin games. The 1st place finisher will get a bye into Div II Gold Medal Game.
2002 Novice Major Div II PLAYOFF FORMAT Division II Pools C & D teams will play a cross division semi-final. C Div 3rd place vs D Div 3rd place. Winners advance against the E Div 1st place for the Div II Gold Medal. C Div 4th vs D Div 4th. Winners advance against E Div 2nd place for Div II Bronze. E 4th vs E 3rd for the A Final.
2001 DIVISION Div I, II, III 12 TEAM FORMAT Division I, II, III Teams will play 3 round robin-inter-pool games. The top four teams from the A Pool & the top four teams from B Pool will advance to the Gold Medal Round. The 5th & 6th place finishers in the A & B Pools will playoff for the B Championship.

Girl’s Peewee 5 TEAM FORMAT Divisions A & B teams will play 4 round robin games inside their own division. Semifinals will be 1st vs 4th and 2nd vs 3rd. The 5th place team will be eliminated. Girls Peewee Gold/Silver
Girl’s Midget AAA 9 TEAM FORMAT B Division will play a 3 game round robin and then a fourth game will be played with 1st vs 4th and 2nd vs 3rd A Division will play a 4 game round robin. After the round robin games there will be a crossover semi-final playoff format.

RULES AND OFFICIATING • Access Rules 2011 through website on downloads or in your division site on the left hand column. • Points system – ALL GAMES MUST HAVE WINNER: 3 pts for win in regulation, 2 pts for win in OT, 1 pt for loss in OT. • Round Robin Overtime rules: 5 min 4 vs 4, 5 player shootout. • Elimination Overtime rules: 5 min 4 vs 4, 5 min 3 vs 3 the 3 player shootout.
RULES AND OFFICIATING • Age for BODY CHECKING – ATOM MAJOR 2000 and older. • No BODY CHECKING in any of the Girl’s Divisions. • MERCY RULE: Running time starts only in 3rd period, if 5 goal lead. • NO GOAL DIFFERENTIAL MAXIMUM • ROSTER ITEMS • Maximum skaters 18, Goalies 3, 21 TOTAL. All 3 goalies can dress. Deadline for changes is 12:00 PM on May 19th, 2011 • Maximum staff on roster-6. Only five can be on the bench for a game. No rotation during game.
STANDING TIEBREAKERS • The following is the format to determine the final standings in the event of a tie: • Most points • Team with the greatest number of wins • Games against team with equal record • Basic goal differential GF-GA • Total goal differential GF-GA/GF • Team with fewest penalty minutes • Goals for • Goals against • Most periods won • Earliest goal scored • Please note that misconducts and game misconducts will count as 10 penalty minutes.

FIVE PUCK GAME • Played only after Round Robin Games and only if games completed in regulation. • 5 mins on clock • Each team uses all players in succession until all 5 pucks are gone or time runs out – All players go once, then start over if necessary • Score kept for time and number of goals • Certificates to be collected immediately at your tournament desk after round robin calculations or they will be sent to you. • The Five Puck Game will not be played if the game goes into overtime. In this situation, the winner of OT will be recorded as the winner with time recorded as it stands in OT.
SKILLS COMPETITION • Because of the size of the tournament this year, we have taken steps to ensure a smooth running skills competition. • The main step is scheduling specific skills • Only show up dressed for your skill-one coach from each team must be present. • Same rules as previous years (consult manager’s package for format)
Harrow Skills Competition Schedule • First 20 Minutes-Fastest Skater • 20-40 Minutes-Best Stickhandler • 40-60 Minutes-Hardest Shot • 60-80 Minutes-Showdown, goalie and shooter. • Skills Competition entries are to be submitted at the rink of your skills competition.
Skills Competition Idea • Turn the Skills Competition into a team effort by having the representative for the skill win the prize for his/her team and later raffle the prize off at a team function.
