Seminar Objectives The objective of the seminar is to provide details of UAV technology and the operational details of the scientific missions carried out by UAV community. The topics will cover an historical perspective on UAVs; the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) UAV program (historical and current); the NASA Ikhana UAV platform; the Western States UAV Mission Series endeavors (which focuses on the use of the Ikhana); the development of mission planning; the Certificate of Authorization (COA) process in the US; and a final lecture on the other UAV missions that are ongoing or planned in the US.
