Why are we doing the project? • Students to understand benefit of research-based education • Provide all our students with opportunity for broad education • Student equity in skills development and preparedness for world of work • Encourage deeper learning at programme level • Changing landscape • More selective students (and parents) • Increased UK and overseas competition • Access to comparative course information • Employer demand for more rounded graduates
Changes • For 2014/15 • 1. Introduction of final year project in all programmes • 2. Evidence and communication of Research Based Learning and Core Programme Threads • 3. Introduction of Discovery Themes • 4. Evidence and communication of broadening for programmes which do not access Discovery Themes • For 2015/16 • 5. Review of learning and outcomes and evidence of associated assessment
