  1. Description: Middle and high school age students receiving instruction in the basics of unmanned aerial flight to include principles of flight and simulated/actual flight. At the high school level, students design and fabricate a vehicle for international collegiate-level competition.AERO Services: Ages 9-13Zenith Challenge Project Synergy Hampton Roads • Supporting Chapter Objectives : • Support STEM activities to promote educational value of future Young AFCEANs • Fund STEM projects • Provide publicity of chapter activities in support of our communities • Increase public awareness of AFCEA International • Provide visibility for the team during select Monthly • Membership Luncheons • Encourage attendance at special functions like our Volunteer Social, booth participation at JWC STEM: UAV Support • January • $2K donation by Tidewater Chapter of AFCEA • February • Over 20 students, leaders, advisors, and chaperones participated in the February Tidewater Chapter Luncheon . Guest speaker was ACC/A5, BG Gersten, topic “Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA): Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow” • AFCEA Scholarship Announcement distributed to leaders of RPA programs • March • AERO Services: • 13 students ages 9-13 competed • Over 65 participants (family • members, Hampton Councilmen, • HRPR Leadership) • AFCEA members judged the event Director of STEM: Mike Mitchell UAV POC: Rhonda Richardson, 764-5005
