  2. Strategic Goal 1: Administer and Manage .ZA Domain Namespace . Strategic Goal 1: Administer and Manage .ZA Domain Namespace • Out of 2 targets, ZADNA achieved 1 target and did not achieve the target of releasing the law.za draft charter for consultation. The failure to release the charter was due to the current law.za administrator raising rights-based concerns regarding the extent to which ZADNA wants to consult

  3. Strategic Goal 2: Comply with International Best Practice in .ZA Administration • The target of ensuring uninterrupted operation of the .ZA zone file was achieved. However, the target of holding a DNSSec awareness event was deferred pending ZADNA’s approval of the DNSSec Policy and Practice Statement in July 2016.

  4. Strategic Goal 3: License and Regulate Registries & Registrars The target of preparing an internal report from the Minister’s ICT Policy Review process was achieved.

  5. Strategic Goal 4: Publish domain names and registration guidelines The targets of compiling and publishing wide-ranging domain name registration guidelines were achieved.

  6. Strategic Goal 5: Enhance Public Awareness The targets of spreading the ZA awareness campaign through holding at least 2 events in different provinces was well achieved, as ZADNA participated in at least 5 events in different provinces during the quarter. ZADNA also achieved its target of publishing 5 school websites as part of its social responsibility-focused awareness campaign.

  7. Strategic Goal 6: Conduct research, surveys and investigations. Targets for preparing scopes for an annual survey and for ZACR’s compliance audit were achieved.

  8. Strategic Goal 7: Publish ZA domain names and registration information ZADNA managed to achieve its target of compiling domain name registration on a quarterly basis. The information is based on the co.za, net.za, org.za and web.za that account for +99% of the total number of .ZA domain name registrations.

  9. Strategic Goal 8: Make a Domain Name Policy Recommendation to the Minister ZADNA achieved its targets of influencing the Internet policy processes, and participated in several policy events, including ICANN Helsinki, Asia-Pacific Internet Resources Conference and the Africa Internet Summit.

  10. Strategic Goal 9: Evaluate ECT ACT effectiveness in relation to Za Management No targets were set in this area for Quarter 1.

  11. Strategic Goal 10: Oversee ZA ADR process ZADNA achieved its targets of publishing ADR decisions within 48 hours and of collection ADR subsidy fee regularly.

  12. Strategic Goal 11:Ensure ZADNA Business Sustainability and Effectiveness • ZADNA achieved its targets for monthly collection of domain name revenue, keeping expenditure within budget, and enhancing internal controls by reviewing current policies and introducing new internal policies and controls.
