Accelerated Leadership Class (ALC) Peterson Air Force Base ALC Pilot Program for Airmen / Dorm Residents • Goal: provide a leadership program that is interactive, effective and fun • Objectives • Provide an Accelerated Leadership Class (ALC) utilizing current Leadership Models, research and high challenge experiential learning activities • Practice Leadership and Followership Skills • Execute a leadership outcome from this experience
ALC Responsibilities • 21st Space Wing Program • Pilot Program managed by PAFB Outdoor Adventure Program (OAP) • Instructed by Garcia Wood, Director of Training Services for Camp Leaders (contractor) • Transportation by OAP or LRS
ALC Target Groups • 12 Student capacity for Pilot Program • Targeted Participation Groups • E1 – E4 • Junior NCO • Expand target audience after pilot Benefits • Each individual will gain an understanding of his/her leadership style, how to lead others, how to create a successful environment for leading, how to give and receive feedback. • The group will have the opportunity to choose a Leadership project that will improve life at the base.
ALC Tentative Schedules for Pilot Program • Start in Feb or March 08 • Seven sessions • Options • 1230-1630, six straight days, seventh day TBD • 1230 -1630, three sessions a week for two weeks, seventh day TBD • 1230-1630, twice a month for three months
ALC Session 1: • Introduction to ALC • Discuss Individual and group goals • Insights Profile taken • Building foundation for next sessions • What is Leadership? • Who do you want to be? (journal) • Who does this team want to be? • Social Contract • Activities: Tent Pole, Keypunch, Tug of War, Daniels Model, Emotional Intelligence • Logging exercise: journal and questions have not been created yet

Objectives To help develop the ability to Understand the nature of perception and its importance in our relationships with others Identify the four basic Insights color energies and the characteristics associated with each Understand that any person will exhibit all of the color energies to some extent, but will show a preference for using one more than the others Understand the relative strengths and weaknesses of each color energy and the relationship between strength and weakness Insights Discovery System Perception - we can disagree and both be right

ALC • Cost for Pilot Program is $5200 • Plus Insights ( $75 x 12 = $900) • Plus journals with written pre-printed guide, $100 • Wing Funded non-personal services contract for $5100
