Simulation Supports interdisciplinary team work and communication to enhance clinical judgment in an interactive and safe surrounding.
Community Health Education and Simulation Center • The current 2500 square foot space was constructed from a nearly $1.7 million in grants with almost $1 million from the Federal Government. • The Norcliff and Archibald Foundations grants combined with Northwest Hospital & Medical Center investment was over $700,000. • The center houses 2 patient simulation rooms, 3 classrooms and a reception area. • There is high fidelity A/V equipment for programming and debriefing. • Trainers that range from low fidelity to high fidelity.
Hospital Goals • To maintain competency and promote new learning for all staff • To promote opportunities for practicing skills and knowledge • To facilitate interdisciplinary communications and team building across the disciplines
Lay Community Goals • To support the local school systems in their emergency response to students and staff • To introduce lay community members by integration of advanced technology into community based classes.
First Responder Goals • To support first responders in their competency, practice and gaining of new knowledge • To facilitate communication and team building between first responders and hospital based staff
Health Education Student Goals • To provide opportunities of learning and reinforcement to healthcare provider students • To provide a safe hospital environment for hands on practice

Equipment Two copies of the various audiovisual equipment operator manuals are available to sign out of the center. Familiarity with operation of each piece of equipment is required. The CHESC Simulation Specialist will be available by appointment to facilitate this.
