Roberts Women’s Health Resource Center Top Responses for Health Concerns (Survey Question 1) Health Information Needs Survey Survey drafted and translated into Spanish • 16 question survey • Questions related to health information needs, learning preferences and demographic information Surveys were distributed to: • Multiple community-based health centers in the Greater Richmond area • The Community Health Education Center Linen Powell Resource Library at Massey Cancer Center What is COIN? • COIN is network through which community members and organizations can get free, current and accurate health information that’s tailored to their clients’ cultural needs and reading abilities. • COIN combines the outreach and promotional efforts of VCU’s four consumer health libraries. • COIN Provides training to intermediary users (i.e. Public Librarians, SeniorNavigator volunteers and pharmacists). • COIN creates a single portal through which all users can access all information and resources provided by its four libraries. • COIN’s Website and training content focuses on the top health concerns in the target community—cancer, diabetes, and heart health COIN: VCU’s Compass in the Quest for Healthy CommunitiesAuthors: Jean P.
