  3. Fats • Sources • sunflower oil, olives oil, coconuts oil, etc… • 3 major types • Monounsaturated fats • Polyunsaturated fats • Saturated fats • Greasy, solid, flabby material • Each gram fat provide 9 calories • Carry flavour (taste, texture & appearance)

  4. Protein • Sources • Dairy foods, meats, fish, etc… • 3 major types • whey • Casein • Egg • Keeps the body healthy by resisting diseases • Burn fats, build muscles • Regulates body processes • Building & repair of body tissues

  5. Fiber (Fibre) • Sources • Cereals, fruits, legumes, almonds, etc… • 2 major types • Soluble • Insoluble • Provide substance & texture • Reduces risk of colon cancer • Improves diabetes • Lowers the level of cholesterol, triglycerides • Move bowel

  6. Vitamins • Sources • Milk, carrots, leafy green vegetables, oranges, etc… • 2 major types • Fat soluble • Water soluble • Organic chemical • Vitamin A: helps see at night • Vitamin B: helps make protein & energy • Vitamin C: helps heal bruise or cut • Vitamin D: helps bones
