Requirements for Judicial Board • Must have completed at least one year of recruitment for their organization • Must maintain at least a 2.8 cumulative GPA • Impartially hear cases that come before the Judicial Board
Letter of Recommendation • The letter of recommendation can be from whoever you think will represent you well!
What we are looking for • A minimum of 3 applicants from each chapter must apply for the Judicial Board • There will be 18 women chosen for the Judicial Board (notified by March 21st) • Two women from each chapter on campus
Duties • This position is NOT just for recruitment • Maintain confidentiality on all issues discussed in all hearings • Maintain confidentiality on all issues discussed in all hearings • Impartiality and discretion are mandatory • Since this is a new position this year duties will come up and be discussed as they are needed
Recruitment Duties • Watch out for recruitment violations • Monitor the recruitment process • Official time keepers • Disaffiliation- • No recruitment practices or chapter meetings (begins when you are chosen for the position) • No letters in Oxford, MS (May 11th to Bid Day) • No social networking cites (May 11th to Bid Day)
Can I apply for Gamma Chi & Jboard? • YES!! • You may apply for both positions • Just keep in mind that Gamma Chis will be decided before Judicial Board interviews • We want each chapter to have equal representation on the Judicial Board • I suggest to have a minimum of three applicants that are just applying for Jboard • Keep in mind it is a MINIMUM of three
INTERVIEWS • Interviews will be held in the Union in Room 422 • Go up the stairs and take a left • Dates • March 18th through the 20th
*IMPORTANT* • If you are applying for the Judicial Board contact your Panhellenic Delegate • If you are applying for both Gamma Chi and Jboard still contact her but tell her you are applying for both positions • They are responsible for making sure that there are three applicants from their houses

What is a Gamma Chi? • A gamma chi is a recruitment counselor that helps PNMs through the recruitment process. • Gamma Chis must be at least a sophomore and have participated in recruitment as an active. • GPA: Requirement 2.5 Cumulative • Oh and you have to be awesome.
Why are Gamma Chis important? • Provide support to incoming new members. • Role models: these girls are watching your every move so remember that you represent all 10 sororities and not just your own. • Explain the recruitment process to the PNMS. • Stimulate interest in joining a sorority. • Objective support for the PNMs. • Put a stop to rumors and stereotypes.
What to expect when you’re…a Gamma chi. • Tons of fun • Girls will love you! • Such a rewarding job • Hard work • No sleep during recruitment week! • Disappointments • Disaffiliation • Weekly meetings
What we expect from you as Gamma Chis… • This job is a privilege! Don’t take it lightly. • Girls depend on you! • Attend Weekly meetings in spring and fall • Conduct floor meetings in the fall as well • Confidentiality • Monitors PNMs through recruitment process • Mentally
What we expect from you as Gamma Chis… • Availability • There as a friend/mentor to the PNMS • Attendance at all Panhellenic Events • Care Walk, Convocation, etc. • Escort your girls to these events • Remain neutral • You represent all 10 sororities equally not just yours • Unbiased source for the PNMs
What we expect from you as Gamma Chis… • Be able to report violations from PNMs or ones you observe • Make sure the PNMs have the best recruitment experience possible! • Have a good attitude! • Be positive, outgoing, and fun with your girls. • Don’t be a stick in the mud. That’s Lame!
Dealing with disappointments. • It sucks. You will have to do it. Sorry. • You may have to release girls. • It can get crazy. This is everything to some girls. You will not know why they were released. • You will have girls that are disappointed. • Even if they are not released, they may be cut from a house they wanted. • Your job is to inform them of all their options. Encourage them to continue the recruitment process or be their for them if they want to drop from recruitment.
Disaffiliation… • You must turn off all social media (facebook, twitter, the picture thing, etc..) on graduation in May. • Also in May, you may not display your sorority letters. • No car tags, key fabs, planners, cell phone covers, t-shirts, jackets, or anything else. • You may not take part in any recruitment practices or meetings with your sorority. • You may not go to chapter! Yay! • This is a deal breaker. If you can’t live with out facebook…bye. But really, its just a few months….

Yay! you saved a tree… • You do have to turn in you unofficial transcript and a picture of yourself to the Greek life office Union 404. while you are there, sign up for an interview time… • Interviews are from Feb. 25 – March 1
How to print an unofficial transcript. • Go to your myolemiss. • Sign in. • Click on the academics tab. • An option on the left is “request a transcript” choose that. • Input your ID number and birthday and agree to the terms. • Click continue. • Then select “university unofficial” and continue. • Your transcript will download to your computer. • Print that baby and bring it to us!
