One of the biggest questions young families have when moving to Costa Rica: What school should you choose? It’s obviously a very complicated decision with many factors to consider: How fluent are your kids in Spanish? What are your educational goals? Do your kids have any special requirements, either educationally or extra curricularly? Where will you live? And many, many more questions. So, instead of attempting to answer the question for you, we thought we’d highlight several top schools in Costa Rica. About Del Mar Academy Del Mar Academy is a bilingual, Montessori school that offers a preschool through high school education. In 2018, 10 years after gaining official certification in Costa Rica, Del Mar Academy graduated its first 12th Grade and IB graduate. Additionally, the school also works within Costa Rica’s educational system, which runs from kindergarten through 11th grade. To comply with local standards and give students a leg up in Costa Rica’s system, Del Mar Academy has also begun administering national MEP exams – a requirement to graduate with Costa Rica’s high school bachillerato degree. Del Mar Academy: The Costs (& Other Hard Facts) Del Mar Academy is located on the southern end of Nosara proper (note: north of Playa Guiones and the Nosara beach area), just a few blocks from the gas station (ServicentroNosara).
