    2. ROBOT NEDIR? Robotlar bir yazilim araciligi ile yönetilen ve yararli bir amaç için is ve deger üreten karmasik makinelerdir. Robotlar bilgisayar kontrollü, programlanabilir, fonksiyonel sistemler olarak da tanimlanabilirler. “Robotu tanimlayamam ama bir robot gördügümde onun robot oldugunu anlarim” Joseph Engelberger

    3. ROBOTBILIM Robotbilim, Elektrik ve Elektronik Mühendisligi, Makine Mühendisligi, Endüstri Mühendisligi ve Bilgisayar Mühendisligi disiplinlerinin ortak çalisma alanidir. Robotbilim, Matematik ve Fizik bilimlerinden de yararlanir. Mekatronik de Robotbilime yakin bir alandir, üniversitelerimizde Mekatronik adiyla Robotik bölümleri açilmaktadir.

    4. ROBOT KELIMESININ KÖKENI Karel Capek' 1921 yilinda yazdigi R.U.R. adli oyunda kullanmak üzere, angarya, zorunlu is anlamindaki robota kelimesi ile isçi anlamina gelen robotnik kelimelerini birlestirerek “robotik” kelimesini türetmistir.
