Raising Aspiration! • 158 student questionnaires • 87% of students wished they had worked harder in Year 12 • Students were asked to rate how much more difficult AS studies were compared to their initial perception (1 = same as perception 10 = Much harder than perceived). The average number was 8.9 • 67% of students wished they had been more organised • 71% of students wished that they had used they had used their study time more effectively.

School Comms • Rewards information sent home electronically on a regular basis • Text notification to parents if your child is not in school • Student timetables and examination timetables • Information on behaviour issues sent home regularly • Newsletters, trip information, club timetable, etc • Important messages such as snow closures • Invitations to parents‟ evenings and other important events. • Warnings of student work deadlines
How to access School Comms • The new system can be used on any PC, laptop and tablet or by using a free Smartphone app. We sent an application form in July but if you require another one please either phone us on 516051 or e –mail at info@trinity.cumbria.sch.uk .

Absence • Contact the sixth form office before 9:00am on the first day of absence and then on each subsequent day of absence • 01228 516051 ext 263 <90% drop ½ grade per subject <85% drop 1 grade per subject <80% drop 2 grades per subject

Courses • Changes allowed in the first three weeks • Students are not allowed to drop courses • Students must pass 3AS or equivalent subjects to progress to Y13 • To continue a subject to continue to A2 students must achieve at least a pass at AS • All students continue with all subjects until results day.

How can you help? Students are expected to complete around 1 hour of private study per hour of taught study • Ensure they have a suitable workspace • Monitor the amount of part time work (no more than 8 hours) • Help with organisation/revision • Maintain home/school contact
