The Fund provides grants that help sustain the New Forest National Park • 117 projects funded • £1.3 Million of grants awarded • Attracted over £2.4 million in match funding • Benefitted 57,000 people • Involved 375 community groups and 530 businesses Sustainable Development Fund

Sustainable Transport Solutions Fund • Improve cycle facilities at transport hubs and attractions • Provide guided walking and cycling experiences • Encourage more cycling and walking for local journeys • Provide electric vehicle (car/cycle) charging points and hire initiatives
Energy Advice Audits for Community Facilities • Improved insulation, draft proofing, double/triple glazing etc. • Efficient lighting, taps, toilets, showers • Renewable/efficient energy systems; Solar, Biomass, air/ground source heat pumps • Village/parish halls, local shops, scout huts
The Future • All three funds will form the Sustainable Communities Fund • Include cultural heritage projects • Grants of up to £50k will be available (£25k will be the norm) • Up to 75% of project costs can be funded for voluntary organisations and for 40-50% commercial enterprises • Open to organisations, businesses and individuals from the public, private and voluntary sectors
The Future • Projects must benefit/involve the community whilst supporting two out of the following: • Conserve and enhance the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of the Park • Promote opportunities for understanding and enjoyment of its special qualities • Foster the social and economic well-being of local communities within the Park.
