  1. Zilpaterol, HRP conjugate DAG1335 Lot. No. (See product label) PRODUCT INFORMATION Zilpaterol, HRP conjugate β-agonists are compounds having a stimulatory effect on β-adrenergic receptors and are used in human and veterinary medicine as bronchodilatory agents. The group includes drugs such as clenbuterol, carbuterol, salbutamol, methylclenbuterol, brombuterol, terbutaline, mabuterol, pirbuterol and mapenterol. The metabolism of β-agonists is dependent on the chemical properties of each drug, with excretion reported in bile, urine, faeces and milk. Accumulation of β-agonists has been reported in tissues including liver, kidney and pigmented tissue e.g. retina ß-Agonists HRP concentrate Each conjugate comprises antigen covalently bound to horseradish peroxide and is suitable as a tracer in immunoassay development Product overview Antigen Description Source Conjugate Form Characteristic PACKAGING Can be stored at 2-8°C for up to 3 months and at -20°C for longer term storage. Storage BACKGROUND Zilpaterol is a beta-adrenergic agonist. Under its trade name, Zilmax, zilpaterol is used to increase the size of cattle and the efficiency of feeding them. Zilmax is produced by Intervet, a subsidiary of Merck pharmaceuticals, and marketed as a "beef improvement technology". Zilpaterol is typically fed in the last 3-6 weeks of cattle's lives, with a brief period (three days in the US) before death for withdrawal, which allows the drug to mostly leave the animal's tissues. Several studies have shown the use of ziplaterol leads to increased size, feed efficiency, and value.
