COREAN ALPINE CLUB Acitivity Report 2012. 1. Youth COREAN ALPINE CLUB(YCAC). Corean Alpine Club has continued Youth Corean Alpine Club since 2011 for vitalizing activities of youths aged 8-27 years old.

1. Youth COREAN ALPINE CLUB(YCAC) Corean Alpine Club has continued Youth Corean Alpine Club since 2011 for vitalizing activities of youths aged 8-27 years old. YCAC program has Mountaineering, Canoe sailing & Camping, Rock-climbing, Sports-climbing, Ice-climbing & Skiing camp through the year.
The major activities of this year is as follows, 1) Ecological Trekking of Baek-du -dae-gan Baek-du-dae-gan is thelonggest/highest stemmountains running 800Kmfrom North-east to South-west in South Korea. 318 students of middle & high school and 100 volunteering instructors were participated in this program held in July 28 ~ Aug.2 on school summer holidays.
2) Canoeing and camping sponsored by Korean Ministry Culture, Sports and Tourism There were two time performancesin Han river & Geum-river. 100 students & 14 volunteering instructors were participated in this program. 3) Youth Climbing Academy Pusan CAC has held youth climbing academy for basic training of rock-climbing and mountaineering for 22 primary school students hepled by 10 volunteering instructors through 4 weekends during last April.
4) Youth Mountaineering Academy Respectively, there were two events at Mt. Bukhan & Mr. Sorak in last Aug. The program has basic rock-climbing & mountaineering courses for primary school students to high school students having been participated by 100 students & 20 volunteering instructors.
2. 6th Korea China Japan Students Summit CAC has managed university students to joint mountaineering with CMF & JAC university students since 2007. In this year, Korea China Japan students Summit was held by CMF in Wuhan city & Shennongjia national park, China, where 10 students & 3 executives of CAC have participated from August 7th till 14th from CAC. This program was progressed free cost to Korean university students forexperiencing 3 countries culture & mountaineering exchanges to aim for making them future mountaineering leaders.
3. 2012 CAC Patagonia Women Expedition 3 women members of CAC havesummitted Fitz-Roy 3,405m through Franco-Argentine route in Patagonia, South America on Feb,26,2012. Due to abnormal climate resulted by global warming, these 3 women (house wives)havedone 3 times trial to the summit passing extremely hard route conditions.
4.CAC' s Library re-opened Bylocal government's help, it has been re-opened after inside-remodeling and purchasing 830 more books locating at 4th floor at CAC headquarter building. Now, it hasnow 2200 books, 10 periodical magazines, 200 video tapes with one volunteering librarian who is CAC member.
5. One printer & 5 PC donated to Kuhmjung School in Nepal Last year October right after UIAA/UAAA in Kathumandu, CAC members have visited Kuhmjung School and donated 5personal computerswith 1 printer & some annual maintenance fee. On 2007, CAC has built Computer Class building at Kuhmjung School and equipped 15 personal computers for students & villagers' education.
