More preproduction tips: Photos • Be sure to rotate any vertical images using Photoshop. • Create title slide in Pshop: new file, 1000px x 700 or so. • Save them all to same folder • You will upload entire file at once • Can upload additional photos later if need to.
Audacity • In earlier demo: This version doesn’t have “Quick mix” on menu. • So instead: “New audio track” • Make selections, copy, paste into new track in order you like. • Then delete/fade silences, improve fades (Effects: Fade In, Fade Out), etc.
Audacity • “Save project as” AUP format allows you to edit this version further in Audacity. • “Export” in order to use it in Audacity • Either MP3 or WAV file
Soundslides: Before you get started • Move file with photos and audio on to desktop. • Open Soundslides and choose “New” project. • It will prompt you to make a new folder for everything. Also do this on the desktop. • Be sure to pull it to an USB later so not forever lost.
Soundslides • Change order of slides in “Slides” view by dragging them • Can dump a file in “out” folder • “Slide Info” can add/edit captions here • “In point” shows timing of when caption will appear. • “Template” changes display of viewer, such as colors, where captions, volume, etc. • “Project Info” = title, credits that display • “Audio” If you hate your clip, you can edit and upload a new one.
Editing in Soundslides • Can easily add/dump photos. • Can import new audio • It will automatically overwrite old MP3 • If wish to do this later, be sure to “Save As” a Soundslides project (diff. file format than exporting it for web)
Exporting • Bottom right hand corner of screen “export” • Creates “project folder” on desktop (can’t tell it where to save!) and will open that folder so you can see it. • Upload publish_to_folder (within project folder) only to your student web folder. • Drag folder, via FTP, to your web folder at top level. • Link to that URL from Wordpress. • Address will be something like this: http://students.otterbein.edu/jkelly/publish_to_web/index.html • Index.html is the start page of the presentation.
