What is Give a Kid a Chance? “Give A Kid A Chance" is a community outreach based on principles in Matthew 25:37-40: Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?The King will answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me."

  3. MISSION To show the love of Christ by helping to relieve the burden that parents experience when they prepare their children to go back to school. In addition, we hope to be a blessing to each family by making available to them, resources and services needed to improve and enrich their lives.

  4. Can this program be successful? 2006 Cherokee County, GA began with 3 Churches -100 students By 2009 2500 students – over 40 partners comprised of churches, local organizations and local and national businesses including ChikFil A, McDonalds, Staples and Walmart

Ennis Give a Kid a Chance in 2009 Provided Each Child A New Backpack filled with a comprehensive list of School Supplies for their grade level A New Outfit for school that meets the Standardized Dress Code Hearing and Vision Screening Gently Used Clothing Child Fingerprinting Scoliosis Screening Dental Check Haircut Lunch

  6. The value of these services without Give a Kid a Chance$350-$400 per child

  7. Give a Kid a Chance also providesservices to the parents A Community Resource Fair 5 Minute Chair Massage Gently Used Clothing Gift Bag

  8. 2009 Community Participants Hometown Chiropractic Williams Dental Women’s Resource Center Navarro College Angel Food Ministries Helping Hands Ennis Police Department Ennis Fire Department Boys and Girls Club Ennis Janitorial Hope Clinic

  9. In 2009 approximately 500-600 students were helped through various Back to School Programs throughout Ennis

  11. How You Can Help Financial Sponsorship Provide Vouchers for Services Participate in the Community Fair Donation of Supplies or Services Conduct a School Supply Drive Volunteer! Volunteer!

  12. Child Sponsorship Individuals will also have the opportunity to sponsor a child A $25 Child Sponsorship Includes A complete New Outfit for school New package of Socks and Underwear New Backpack
