New League Format Creates a 2 Tiered Club Structure • National Leagues Teams • Higher level of competition • Committed Players • More games, more training • Excellence Level • Competitive League Teams • Fewer playing/training options • Invitational Tournaments and Local club games • Option to participate in Florida Invitational • Fitness, Team Work • Developmental Level
Training • National Leagues Teams • Practices are 4 to 5 times/week • Practices are 1.5 to 2.0 hours long • Morning practices • Additional Dry Land Training • Monthly Schedule should be a set schedule • Sport Psychologist and Nutritionist (in discussion) • Referee Clinic (planned) • Attendance taken for all practices
Training • Competitive League Teams • Practices are 3 to 4 times/week • Practices are 1.0 to 1.5 hours long • Sport Psychologist and Nutritionist possible (may be additional cost) • Referee Clinic (planned) • Attendance taken for all practices • Monthly schedule should be a set schedule
Coaches • Scott Smith – Director of Men’s Program • Andrew Robinson – Director of Women’s Program • Other coaching assignments have not yet been released • 5 coaches left from last year • Coaching interviews are on-going • Plan is in the place • Some fluidity due to candidates • Building for long term coach development • Requires “Coach Team” model to work
Team Sponsorship/Fundraising • You are encouraged to organize and participate • Team Sponsorship would help fund the whole team • Must follow WPC and WPQ restrictions/guidelines • Must be approved by DDO Water Polo • Fundraising helps the individual player • Helps fund the participants • Based upon the families contribution • Paid directly into the player’s account
Costs • Costs based upon best knowledge at the time • No schedule from WPC • No League Participants At Time • Based upon 13 player roster • Responsible for 1 referee • Some costs are to be borne by all participants • Some costs have flexibility • But still come with a commitment cost • Team needs to stand behind commitment • Modelled as Worst Case Scenario
