What are the differences between an engineering degree and a diploma? They are completely two different sets of courses and there are some major differences between with the only similarity that both of them can help you in becoming an engineer. However, here are some of the major differences between them: 1.Entrance exams When you want to graduate with an engineering degree, you will need to pass an exam that is purely based on Mathematics and Science. This is mandatory if you want to apply to an engineering university as an undergraduate. So technically you will need excellent scores in Mathematics and Science in your high school finals. The same does not apply with an engineering app development course, because you can get an admission into a diploma course even if you are a high school drop-out. In short, you can apply for the diploma with your grade 9 scores as well, but you will still need to be excellent in Mathematics and Science. 2.Perfect percentages in subjects For gaining entrance into a reputed engineering university, you will need to have perfect scores in certain subjects. You will need to have moderately good scores in English, excellent scores in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Some universities will announce cut-offs each year and the percentage by which they will judge your application will differ each year. So it can get very difficult for you gain entrance in your dream university, however you must strive for the best.
