Wilson Review, 28th February 2012 • Professor Sir Tim Wilson said: • “the UK has the potential to be a world leader in university-business collaboration, building on the diversity of collaborative networks, partnerships and supply chains that already exist.” • “If this potential is fulfilled, universities will be at the heart of our knowledge-based economy, collaborating with business and government to generate the wealth necessary for a healthy and prosperous society.”
Swansea Employability Academy Boards • The Strategy Board meets three times a year and has participants from:- • HEFCW, Venture Capitalists, Large Enterprises, Economic Development, CBI, Chamber of Commerce, Entrepreneurs, Sector Skills Councils, Regional Learning Partnership, SMEs, ABMU Health Board. • The Management Board meets monthly and has participants from across the University, with two external people from the Strategy Board.
What is the Swansea Employability Academy? • To support our graduates in attaining graduate level employment and enhance the development of the regional economy. Simon Gibson, SEA Patron
Swansea Employability Academy • With the support of employers review the structure and content of our courses to ensure that all students develop the essential graduate attributes which make them employable.
Swansea Employability Academy • Enhance the provision of employability skills, advice and guidance so graduates have the skills to seek employment and articulate their attributes in job applications and interviews
Swansea Employability Academy • Develop entrepreneurial skills/attitude in all our graduates - a skill set which meets requirements of SMEs and larger employers alike – and may result in the development of new enterprises in the region.
Swansea Employability Academy Challenge our students, take them out of their comfort zone, develop a ‘can do’ attitude and raise aspirations to find graduate level employment - which will entail developing a global perspective and may mean increasing mobility.
