  3. Abnormal uterine bleeding • FIGO menstrual disorders group • Symptom nomenclature described elsewhere • Recommends abandonment of terms menorrhagia, metrorrhagia and DUB

  4. AUB • Abnormal uterine bleeding – bleeding from the uterine corpus that is abnormal in volume, regularity and/or timming. • Chronic- present for the majority of the last 6 months • Acute – an episode of sufficient severity to require immediate intervention to prevent further loss • Acute may preset in context of existing chronic AUB • IMB – bleeds that occur between clearly defined cyclic and predictable menses

PALM COEIN Components are discrete that are measurable visually , by using imaging techniques and /or by using histopathology Entities not defined by imaging or histopathology Examples: Coagulation Ovulatory disorder Endometrial Iatrogenic Not yet classified Examples: Polyp Adenopyosis Leiomyoma Malignancy & hyperplasia
