Social Location - Advantage Walk The purpose of this exercise is to provide participants with an opportunity to understand the intricacies of social location in American society.
Social Location - Advantage Walk Common themes in reflections • Biggest advantages listed: parents, grandparents, public school, health, overall appreciation • Obstacles: parents’ education, finances, alcoholism, parent that passed away, language barriers • Some obstacles not mentioned in questions: emotional instability in home life, special learning needs, abuse • Questions reflect SOME aspects of social location, outline some of the topics we will look at this semester
