What is an SPB? • A Summative Project Brief • A guided project with a series of tasks • Main elements • Planning • Research • Creating publications • Testing • Review • Eportfolio
Timing of SPB? • Two lessons per week • 30 hours: 2 hrs per week for 15 weeks • Will last until the end of the summer term • 20 minutes at the end of every 2nd lesson will be for writing up diary and modifying your plan
Some guidance • The SPB is your work • You can discuss ideas with other people but not copy someone else’s work • You get better marks for not seeking help BUT you need to keep checking with your teacher that you are going in the right direction and recording the correct evidence • Don’t be afraid to check what you are doing with your teacher. They can guide you without giving direct help • KEEP your diary up to date • KEEP updating your plan • USE whatever guidance you can find • HOMEWORK
Homework • Reviewing and updating your plan • Commenting on progress (DIARY ROOM) – what is going well, what is not going so well - this will assist with the final evaluation? • Researching appropriate sources of information related to the scenario and publications, keeping records of where information was found (BIBLIOGRAPHY) and how it could be used.
Homework 2 • Carrying out survey work • Initial design of publications and feedback from others on these designs • Prototyping of own publications – gathering feedback from test users so that publications can be improved where appropriate • Reviewing final publications and creating the eportfolio
