Foundational Transmission Project List • “The SCG foundational transmission project list is a subset of the projects currently in the SPG’s 10-year plans and represents those projects that have a very high probability of being built over the next ten-years and are needed under a wide variety of future resource development scenarios. The foundational transmission project list provides TEPPC with a basic set of transmission facilities that TEPPC can use as a starting point for their own studies”
SCG Transmission Criteria(draft) • Subregional/Regional Transmission • All 500kV transmission lines • 345 kV considered backbone network facilities • 230 kV transmission lines with subregional significance • Committed Projects or Potential Projects
Under construction Needed to meet reliability standards Required to meet WECC Loads and Resources Class 0 and Class 1 Project demonstratedfirmfinancial commitment Public statement, Inclusion in approved IRP, Major equipment orders, Executed contracts, Approved regulatory cost recovery, ROW acquired or purchasing, ISD within study timeframe All other subregional/regional projects not meeting the committed project criterion are classified as “Potential” SCG Committed Projects(draft)
Scenario Planning Steering Group (SPSG) • Purpose: Multi-stakeholder group to develop future resource scenarios to supplement the regional transmission planning process • 25 Member group • DOE required 1/3 representation from state/provincial group (8 Total) • Board approved membership • Required by Department of Energy under the FOA • Information can be found at the following weblink • http://www.wecc.biz/committees/BOD/TEPPC/SPSG/default.aspx
