High-Performance Spring-Applied Lenze Brake
The Lenze Brake is a high-performance holding brake with a standard power range of 100 to 2,400 Nm. Drive torques and motor speeds are increased using high-performance drives. As a result, even with rising power needs, spring-applied brake installation spaces are often getting smaller. This performance class is built on the novel multi-pole technology.
Description of Function Mechanism ➔ ➔ Single-disk brakes with two friction surfaces are the BFK468 spring-applied brakes. The de-energised friction fit generates the braking torque by the use of several compression springs. Braking Process ➔ ➔ The rotor, which is axially moveable on the hub, is forced into the counter friction face during the braking process by the compression springs through the armature plate. There is an air gap between the stator and armature plate when the motor is braking. DC voltage is applied to the stator coil to release the Lenze brake.
